Kia ora and Welcome to Copper-Red ~ Jewellery by Sonya Cameron, hand-made in Island Bay, Wellington.
My jewellery is inspired by the plant life of Aotearoa - from the forget-me-nots and lilies in our gardens in spring; to the pohutakawa and hibiscus of summer; and the kidney fern and kawakawa found while walking in the bush.
My favourite material is recycled copper (I cut up old hot water cylinders) and the fiery red colours that can be created with it. I lacquer the copper to retain its colour, and use it in conjunction with sterling silver. All my ear wires are handmade from sterling silver.
